Delivers Next-Generation Identity Management Solutions
Imanami enables the improvement of the user
experience and internal communications while reducing administrative
& IT costs
Livermore, Calif., January 11, 2005
Imanami today announced the availability of the Imanami solution
WebDir 3.1. Imanami delivers the next generation of identity management
point solutions by providing global enterprises and their employees'
control of their user information and distribution lists at the
departmental and divisional levels, enabling the improvement of
the user experience and internal communications while reducing administrative
and IT costs. This allows companies and their employees to rapidly
build accurate knowledge about their operations and employees from
information across the enterprise and to promote stronger employee
relationships required to succeed in a rapidly changing competitive
environment.
With quick implementations, Imanami customers such as KRAFT, Cendant,
and CNA have achieved a rapid time to value as a first step on their
path to an overall Identity Management strategy.
"Improving our employee and internal communications has been a long
standing business objective," says the Manager of Network Services
for a $16 billion telecommunications company. "Our operating departments
are very busy, so finding a "user self-service" directory management
product that allows employees to update their own information, elect
what distribution lists they subscribe to, and find other employees
were critical as a first step in our overall Identity Management
strategy."
"Today, enterprises are looking for identity management solutions
that deliver to the bottom line of their business. Organizations
often require tactical solutions that will enable them to achieve
a rapid return on investment" said Nick Nikols, analyst at Burton
Group.
"To win in today's business environment, companies must build communications
bridges among all those involved in creating a successful business:
the individual employees, different operating departments and global
divisions. Companies must strive to improve internal communications
to a level that provides the right information to the right person
at the right time. This outcome is dependent on identity management
that is accurate, speedy and efficient," said Robert Haaverson,
Imanami President and CEO.
"For many industries, communications cycles are being compressed
and complicated as companies expand through acquisitions. In this
changing atmosphere, operating departments such as IT and human
resources face new pressures to allow employee self service for
their address books and distribution lists. The streamlining and
automating of critical identity management processes is key to cost-effective
management of operations and resources while at the same time improving
the user experience and internal communications."
"Overall, our goal is to improve employee communications and reduce
the associated operational costs at the same time: a challenge given
our complex and changing operations. Now that employees can access
and update their own information by simply opening a browser, everyone
is happier," says the Messaging Architect of the largest wireless
company in the United States, with more than 46 million subscribers.
Next-Generation Identity Management Solutions
The Imanami WebDir 3.1 release represents the benchmark for the
next generation of identity management solutions as a way to improve
the user experience and internal communications while reducing administrative
& IT costs.
A few of the new and unique features included in this product release:
NEW! -- Support for Active Directory without Exchange 2000/2003
Active Directory Only Support - User accounts, contacts, distribution
list, or groups--no longer require they be mail or mailbox enabled
in order for WebDir to create, search and manage objects within
the directory.
NEW! -- Support for entire Active Directory forest with
just one virtual server
One WebDir virtual server is all you need when working in an Active
Directory multiple domain environment. WebDir will allow all users
within the same forest to log in, search, create, and manage objects
that exist in separate domains.
NEW! -- Extended photo support
Rules can be used to join users to their pictures. Now you can specify
a rule that defines where photographs reside. For example, you can
tell WebDir 3.1 that all photographs are stored in the c:\photo
directory and which attribute (alias, username, etc.) in the directory
to use in order to pair the right photo with the logged-on user.
Also, photo support will perform automatic resizing to ensure the
picture meets the size limit specified.
