WebDir is a simple, yet powerful, web-based directory and group management solution that can immediately reduce administrative costs and increase the accuracy of Active Directory. AD Update Capabilities
The update feature allows users to update their own directory information and allows users to search the directory, change their password, modify groups they own and update their directory information. Administrators can reset passwords, modify users, contacts, and groups from any browser. |

Group Management
The group feature allows end users to create, delete and manage their own groups. End users are able to opt-in or opt-out from groups without any support required from the administrator. Multiple levels of group security (public, semi-public, semi-private, private) ensure that communications remain secure. |

Phonebook Access
The phonebook allows anonymous or authenticated read-only access to the directory. Users can search multiple fields and even export the results to Excel. WebDir's phone book supports WAP devices, such as cellular phones.

Notification and Workflow
Notification allows administrators to be informed when an object in the directory is changed using WebDir. WebDir can notify owners of an object, such as a distribution list, when that object is changed. WebDir can also notify a manager when a direct report modifies themselves or when someone else modifies a direct report.

Administrator Control
Administrators can administer directory information, creating, updating and deleting users, contacts, and groups as necessary - all through any web browser. Administrators can customize the fields so that only the information they want changed can be changed.

Extended Photo Support
Rules can be used to join users to their pictures: you can specify a rule that defines where photographs reside and which attribute (alias, username, etc) in the directory to use in order to pair the photo with the logged on user.

Approvals
WebDir can now be forced to not make changes and instead a notification request to the appropriate person. Users can make their changes in WebDir, the changes (both attribute and group membership changes) are then sent to the approving person person allowing them to deny or accept and make the change on behalf of the end-user. |

Notification option enables WebDir to send email notifying administrators, owners, or managers of changes being made by users. |
