In the previous chalk-talk, I discussed making dynamic Active Directory security groups but I ignored an elephant in the room….what if Active Directory isn’t accurate? What is the point of dynamically managing Active Directory group membership if you are querying against bad and/or faulty data? To make this important functionality work, Active Directory has to be accurate.
In this video chalk-talk, I demonstrate how to create and run a simple Active Directory synchronization job that will maintain Active Directory’s accuracy and ensure that you will always have accurate dynamic groups.
Of course, I am demonstrating GroupID Synchronize but there you can use any Active Directory synchronization tool. I am partial to the ease of use of our product, our main goal here is to have Active Directory be accurate so that you can manage your dynamic groups more effectively. That being said, as we delve deeper into GroupID Synchronize, we will show how to make a fully functioning Active Directory provisioning, synchronizing and de-provisioning cycle to keep your users’ data accurate always.
If you would like a more thorough demonstration of GroupID, we can arrange it.
